HISTORY OF A SUCCESS

Franck Francois, a colorist hairdresser, gathered all his savings, borrowed money from his parents and grandparents and opened his first salon in 1979. In 1982 he created his own franchise named VOG COIFFURE. Strong after that first experience, he created the franchise TCHIP COIFFURE in 1996. Afterwards he bought the CLAUDE MAXIME brand (luxury) and the FORMUL’A schools (Paris, Bordeaux, Lille and Morice Mélone in Lyon) in 2002. Innovative business man, he won the Victory of the self-educated people in 2007. Franck François decided to create a new concept which is adapted to the new commercial centers in 2009.

The nineties
The history of TCHIP started in 1996 : in order to fight the competitors prices slash, Franck François decided to create a strong concept based on small prices without extra charges. During a trip to Miami he discovered shops which were unusually decorated for a Frensh eye. (Pastel tints that are still represented in our Tchip salons). Once back in France, he opened his first TCHIP salon in Lille.


Ever since, TCHIP’success has been dazzling : 30 salons were openened the first year. In 1999, TCHIP COIFFURE celebrated the 100th opening.


The years 2000
In 2006 : TCHIP celebrated its 10th anniversary !
The economical context has been difficult, behaviours and ways of thinking are evoluting, TCHIP’s reputation gets bigger : TCHIP has become the unmissable good deal in hairdressing. The media praise the brand : “Why pay more ?”
